In this Part, unless the context otherwise requires, the expression “State” means a State specified in Part A or Part B of the First Schedule.
Summary
Draft Article 281 (Article 308, Constitution of India 1950) was debated on 7 September, 1949. It provided the definition of “State” for Part XII of the Draft Constitution.
The Chairman of the Drafting Committee proposed to substitution the Draft Article with a new one that had a few language changes made to it.
The motion was adopted without any debate or discussion and the Draft Article was added to the Constitution on the same day.
